Double Plays Empty
PostSubject: Double Plays   Double Plays EmptyWed Aug 26, 2009 10:21 am

Have you ever noticed that most of the time when a team turns a double play the second baseman is OFF THE BAG when he catches the ball. He steps on it before he catches it, takes his foot off and then catches it and throws to first... This happens A LOT with Cano (Yanks). I noticed this two times in the last series with the Sox. There's also times when the first baseman takes his foot off the bag before he catches the ball too... stupid.

They call the runner to second safe as often as NBA refs call players for steps while driving for a big time jam. I guess it's something that's become part of the game, right or wrong.
