| Tim Wakefield . . . sorry, but you need to go to the bullpen to chew up innings. Bring up young talent like Bowden or Buchholz to get some experience.
I know it's early in the seaon, but I'm concerned. Sox have to have more than a decent year since the Yanks and Rays are legit threats to the AL East and Wild Card tickets to the Playoffs.

| As you said, it's early in the season. Let's see... they played 4 games? That means.... quick math here... they have 158 left. I'm not too concerned. The year is full of streaks. I'm not expecting Lester and Dice-K to have poor stars every time they go there. And the Sox won't play teams like LA and Tampa all year. This is a difficult start to the year.
That said I agree somewhat with the Wakefield comment. I think that around the half way point or maybe a little earlier than that they should bring up either Bowden or Buchholz to replace him.
How awesome is YOUK!!! | |

| Red Sox finally win a regular season game in Anaheim!! Jason Bay leaves the ballpark TWICE!! David Ortiz is washed up . . . bring up Lars to DH.
Trade Proposal: Lowrie, Wakefield and Prospects (including Buchholz or Bowden but NOT Lars Anderson) for shortstop Hanley Ramirez (Marlins). Buchholz or Bowden takes Wakefield's place in the rotation (until Smoltz comes back).

| Oakland has some good players ... Giambi, Nomar, and Holliday. They might contend with the Angels for the AL West.
The Red Sox can't hit (except for Youk) or pitch. Embarassing.

| They better start hitting and playing better by next Saturday... I will be there at Fenway when Boston plays the Yankees! It should be Lester pitching that game but the rotation might be shuffled now that Beckett has a 6 game suspension... who knows. I just hope it's not Wakefield. | |

| I claim this series against their arch-rivals is KEY to this year's success. The Sox for the most part played like amateurs against playoff caliber teams like the Rays and Angels. They get smoked from a second tier team like the A's. Boston needs to make a statement that they're better than a last place team. The Yanks have something to prove as well as their winning percentage is slightly better than the Red Sox. | |

| Wow!! Boston's starting pitching is BRUTAL!! One inning for Dice-K. Masterston did a great job during his four innings. Might be wise to move him to the starting rotation. Bring up the rookie arms now. Yanks looked good against a powerful Tampa Bay team. | |

| Sox find another way to lose... in extra innings. Neer liked Lopez. So what if he's left-handed, he stinks. Dice-K has shoulder fatigue. I already ranted about the stupid World Baseball Classic. Lowrie needs surgery. I suspect the medical team in Boston should have had Lowrie have surgery during the offseason. Bad call.
2-6 record. Sweet!! | |

| Good win for the Sox today. 8-2 over the A's. Wakefield took a no hitter to the 8th inning. Very solid start and the complete game gave the bullpen some much needed rest.
Hopefully this will be the game that gets the Sox back on track!

| Great comeback win for the Sox last night. Bad news though: Lowrie may be out for the year with his injury. Nick Green is a very good player defensively and he is hitting the ball right now (key kit last night). We'll see if Theo sticks with him. Papi looks terrible. Francono should play Chris Carter and see how he does. He had a great Spring Training. Maybe by the end of the year we might see Lars up and playing. He hit his first HR last night... We also need to get rid of Lopez and bring up Daniel Bard. He's pitched 6 innings of hitless ball with 9 K's... plus pitching 100+ mph ain't bad either... | |

| Looks like the sleeping giant (aka the Red Sox) have awoken! 5 wins in a row. Youk is red hot. Bay, Lowell and Drew are all consistent. Pedroia is heating up. Ortiz had a couple hits (double and triple) today in the 12-1 romp. The bullpen is SICK. They are unreal. All we need is to have the starter go 5 or 6 innings, leave with a lead, and we will win with our bullpen. I can'twait for this weekends series versus the Yankees. | |

| What? No ramblings on the Sox? 7 wins in a row... that's not bad at all... Let's hope they have a good series vs. the Yanks this weekend. I'll let you all know how Beckett vs. Burnett looks like IN PERSON tomorrow! Tonight is Joba the Hut vs. Lester. Should be a good one. WHat are the odds that Joba beams Youk? | |

| It's finally over: Game 1 of the Sox vs. Yanks goes to the Sox!
Bottom of the 9th, down 4-2, Bay hits a two run homer to tie the game. (which occurred at the exact time of the game winning shot for the Sixers over the Magic) Bottom of the 11th, tie game 4-4, Youk hits a walk off homer.
Good start to the series... now I'm off to bed finally. Why is it that every Yankees - Sox game runs at least 4 hours?!

| Yep... big time win for the Sox. This win will help "tuff-in" their psyche and build some additional confidence. Bay is makin' some Sox fans forget about Manny. Youk keeps playing like this another Red Sox player will claim the MVP at year's end!! | |

| I just came back home and saw that the Sox came back big time to beat the Yanks. Varitek and Lowell, wow! I left the house in disgust when the Sox were trailing by six runs. Ramirez still has a 0.00 ERA!
Youk has the best batting average in the league and Lowell is leading the AL in RBI!

| Ellsbury stealing home was really exciting, quite the winning streak they have put together. On the other side of the coin the Marlins have lost 7 straight. | |

| If Boston doesn't sign Bay to an extended deal like they did with Youk and Pedroia they are stupid. He is the ultimate Red Sox player. Robotic, goes out there and does his job. | |

| Javier Lopez and JOOLIO Lugo (who is now batting .667!!!) need to leave the Sox immediately. Their errors cost the Sox the game yesterday.
Also get rid of Penny. He is not good at all.
Bring up either Bowden or Buchholz to start for Penny, or keep Masterson in the starting role and have him replace Penny when Dice-K comes back. Replace Lopez with Bard. Kepp Green at shortstop in place of Lugo.
Then I will be happy... | |

| I agree... get rid of Lugo and Lopez. Penny is a bust. Hoping Smotlz won't be too. Also agree about signing Bay. But do you want to sign Bay or try to get Holliday from Oakland?? Bard should take Delcarmen's spot. | |

| Rays clobber the Sox. Thought we'd see a pitching duel. Garza showed up...Beckett did not. Lopez has another bad outing. Hunter Jones did fine. Why can't he be the mop up lefty on the mound. Van Every is being sent in to pitch? Good move, would not want to burn out Lopez or anything. | |
